First results:

Civil cases

For civil cases, the report of the post-implementation study produced the following data: the duration of cases in number of days was reduced from 106.5 to 97.4 days, while the duration of cases in number of hearings decreased considerably from 3.7 to 2.3 hearing per case. The percentage of non-productive hearings in civil cases has dropped from 29% in the initial study to 15% in the first study post-implementation, surpassing the target set by the Court itself.


Criminal cases

The criminal cases adjudicated under the previous procedural rules, analyzed in the initial study, last an average of 50 days and 3.1 hearings. Criminal cases, adjudicated under the new amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, last an average of 3 sessions. Regarding productivity, 65% of criminal cases under the previous procedure were evaluated as productive in the initial study. Data from criminal cases under the new procedural rules show that 72% of hearings are productive.
