First results: 

Civil cases

During the period under consideration at the Mat district court, civil cases last for an average of 58.6 days and 3.3 hearings. Compared with the results of the initial study, the length of cases in number of hearings has remained almost the same with 3.5 hearings, while the average duration in days is estimated to be slightly increased by 9.5 days. The percentage of non-productive hearings in civil cases dropped from 32% in the initial study to 22% in the first study post-implementation.

Criminal cases

Criminal cases adjudicated per the previous procedural rules, analyzed in the initial study, lasted on average 49 days and 3.9 hearings. Criminal cases,
adjudicated under new amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, last an average of 2.6 sessions per case.
